Gaelscoil de hÍde provides a stimulating environment where children can reach their full potential in every aspect of development – in physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social terms. This is achieved through a fully integrated, well balanced and structured curriculum from which the children can acquire the skills, knowledge, understanding and attitudes to enable them to become responsible members of society and provide them with a sound base on which the secondary school can build. We provide this education through the medium of Irish and we hope you can pick up some Gaéilge along the way

In 1984 we started in the Old Adair School on Oliver Plunkett Hill. By 1987 it was obvious to us that we needed extra space. In December of that year we moved to the Old Vocational School. In 2007 it was evident that the demand for places would mean extra accommodation. After a lengthy campaign we finally got our ‘Scoil Nua’. On the 17th. of February 2017 we proudly marched from the old premises to our brand new state of the art Scoil Nua. Our Bórd Bainistíochta along with our excellent Parent Support Group, Cáirde de hÍde’ invested over €100,000 in our new school to ensure that we had the latest technology in our classrooms and a fantastic All Weather pitch available to our school community.

The new school building and facilities are child friendly, multi-faceted and totally supports the delivery of an excellent education for all our children.

We look forward with confidence and our aim is to continue with the excellent work that is associated with our school.
